What the City of Parkland checks

Parkland posts its own Window/Door Permit Packet, with a wind load flowchart, a schedule, and the Broward Fenestration Voluntary Wind Load Chart. The key local rule: any building with a mean roof height over 20 feet must use site-specific engineering instead of the Broward chart. With so many two-story homes here, that applies to a lot of Parkland jobs. If opening sizes change, the city requires sealed site-specific alteration plans from a licensed engineer. Product approvals must have the opening sizes, glazing types, and design pressures highlighted, with a window, door, and mullion schedule. Permits go through My Government Online, and owner-builders must appear in person to sign.

FAQ

Parkland questions

Local permitting, HOA rules, and the right ratings, we handle it all.

Call (954) 884-8224
My home is two stories. Does that change the permit?

Often. Parkland routes any building with a mean roof height over 20 feet to site-specific engineering instead of the Broward voluntary chart. We arrange the engineering.

Can I make my windows bigger?

Yes, but Parkland requires sealed site-specific alteration plans from a licensed engineer when opening sizes change. We coordinate them.

How are Parkland permits filed?

Through My Government Online. Contractors had to re-register when the city moved to it, and we are set up there.

Will impact windows lower my insurance in Parkland?

Impact windows and doors installed to code may qualify for wind-mitigation credits. We give you the product approvals and final inspection paperwork your insurer asks for. Your carrier decides any discount.

Do you work with HOAs in Heron Bay and other communities?

Yes. Most Parkland homes are in master-planned communities. We get the HOA's requirements on color and style before ordering.
