Hillsboro Beach is a barrier island along the 3.2-mile Hillsboro Mile, with the ocean on one side and the Intracoastal on the other. About 90% of homes are in multi-unit buildings, and the median home was built in 1974, so original windows in older towers are common.
The town's Window and Door Replacement Permit form turns on visibility from the beach. Beach-visible windows should be tinted to a shading coefficient of .45 or less, or interior lights must be screened or off at night during nesting season. Owner and contractor both sign. We handle the form, the association, and the filing.
