What the Town of Ocean Ridge checks

Ocean Ridge runs its own Building and Zoning Department, and every application is submitted in person with originals. The town asks for a notarized application, two copies of the signed contract or scope, and two sets of backup such as product approvals. Since October 1, 2023, contractors must register with the town before pulling permits. For oceanfront work seaward of the 1997 Coastal Construction Control Line, the town requires its own permit in addition to Florida DEP approval.

FAQ

Ocean Ridge questions

Local permitting, HOA rules, and the right ratings, we handle it all.

Call (954) 884-8224
Is Ocean Ridge in the High-Velocity Hurricane Zone?

No. The HVHZ covers only Broward and Miami-Dade. Ocean Ridge is in Palm Beach County's wind-borne debris region, so every window and door needs Florida Product Approval or a Miami-Dade NOA. The county wind map puts Ocean Ridge between the 160 and 170 mph lines, and we design to 170.

Can I submit an Ocean Ridge permit online?

No. Ocean Ridge takes applications in person with originals and two sets of backup. We deliver them. Permit fees are separate.

My home is oceanfront. Is there an extra step?

If the work is seaward of the 1997 Coastal Construction Control Line, the town requires its own permit on top of Florida DEP approval. We check where your home sits.

Do contractors have to register with Ocean Ridge?

Yes, since October 1, 2023. We are registered before we pull your permit.
