Impact windows in Hialeah Gardens, FL

Hialeah Gardens asks for more paperwork than most cities on a window job, including signed and sealed wind loads and a window affidavit. We install Miami-Dade NOA impact windows and doors and put the whole package together.

What the City of Hialeah Gardens checks

The City of Hialeah Gardens Building Department wants two copies of the Miami-Dade Product Control approval and two sets of site-specific wind load calculations, signed and sealed by the design engineer or architect, for windows, doors, garage doors, and storefronts. Window permits also need a window affidavit and a homeowner, commercial, or association affidavit, plus an association letter where one applies. Shutter permits need a signed and sealed Product Control Approval Authorization Form and a drawing of each opening with its top elevation above grade. We arrange the engineering and the affidavits so the permit goes in complete.

Why does Hialeah Gardens need engineered wind loads?

The city asks for two sets of site-specific wind load calculations, signed and sealed by an engineer or architect, for windows, doors, garage doors, and storefronts. We coordinate the engineering for your home.

What is the window affidavit?

It is one of the forms Hialeah Gardens requires with a window permit, along with a homeowner, commercial, or association affidavit. We fill these out with you.

I live in an HOA. What else do I need?

An association letter where one applies. We ask your association for it early so the permit is not held up. Permit fees are separate.

Will impact windows lower my insurance?

They may qualify for wind-mitigation credits. We give you the product approvals and the final inspection paperwork to send to your insurance company.
