What the City of Greenacres checks

Greenacres runs its own Permit Center at 5800 Melaleuca Ln. Its windows and doors checklist asks for the Palm Beach County Universal Permit Application, the city's Windows and Doors Worksheet, and a floor plan of the openings being changed. Every proposed window and door needs its NOA marked up to show the exact product being installed. If the wall opening has to be altered to fit, that is a separate building permit. For work of $5,000 or more, a recorded Notice of Commencement is due before the first inspection. We mark up the approvals and file the worksheet so the permit is complete on day one.

FAQ

Greenacres questions

Local permitting, HOA rules, and the right ratings, we handle it all.

Call (954) 884-8224
Is Greenacres in the High-Velocity Hurricane Zone?

No. The HVHZ covers only Broward and Miami-Dade. Greenacres is in Palm Beach County's wind-borne debris region, so every window and door needs Florida Product Approval or a Miami-Dade NOA. The county wind map puts Greenacres between the 160 and 170 mph lines, and we design to 170.

What is the Greenacres Windows and Doors Worksheet?

It is the city form that lists each opening on your permit. Greenacres asks for it with the county permit application and a floor plan. We fill it out and match it to your product approvals. Permit fees are separate.

I want a bigger window. Is that a different permit?

Yes. Greenacres requires a separate building permit if the wall opening has to be altered. We tell you up front if your plan needs one.

When is a Notice of Commencement needed?

For window and door work of $5,000 or more. It must be recorded before the first inspection, and we help you record it.
