How Glen Ridge permits work

Glen Ridge does not use an online portal. Notarized permit forms go to the Town Manager by email or in person, and the Town Manager forwards them to the Building Official. Town Hall at 1501 Glen Rd. handles permits Monday through Thursday mornings, and inspections must be requested by noon for the next day. A Notice of Commencement is needed for jobs of $5,000 or more. Because the town sits on the C-51 canal, the checklist also asks for a flood elevation survey if any part of the lot is in an A or V flood zone. With a 1959 median build year, many homes date from the 1950s.

FAQ

Glen Ridge questions

Local permitting, HOA rules, and the right ratings, we handle it all.

Call (954) 884-8224
Is Glen Ridge in the High-Velocity Hurricane Zone?

No. The HVHZ covers only Broward and Miami-Dade. Glen Ridge is in Palm Beach County's wind-borne debris region, so every window and door needs Florida Product Approval or a Miami-Dade NOA. The county wind map puts Glen Ridge between the 160 and 170 mph lines, and we design to 170.

Can I apply for a Glen Ridge permit online?

No. Glen Ridge takes notarized forms by email or in person at Town Hall, 1501 Glen Rd., and the Town Manager passes them to the Building Official. We prepare and submit them. Permit fees are separate.

Why does Glen Ridge want a flood survey?

The town checklist requires a flood elevation survey if any part of your property lies in an A or V flood zone. That matters most when replacing exterior doors. We check your lot before quoting.

Do I need a Notice of Commencement?

For jobs of $5,000 or more, yes. We prepare it with you.
